Our story
A dream built in the Algarve
Equi Vista Mar is owned by Anna and John Faulkner. Anna bought her first horse, Dalia, when she moved to Portugal in 2018, and together they began building their dream farm in the Algarve next to their home at Quinta Da Saudade.
From the beginning, the vision was simple: create a place where riders can slow down, feel looked after, and experience the Algarve at its most beautiful—coastline one day, countryside the next.
We keep experiences small, personal, and centred on great horsemanship—so every ride feels like your own private escape.

Today, Equi Vista Mar welcomes guests for luxury riding holidays and local trek experiences, with a warm, relaxed atmosphere at the farm and a carefully curated approach to every day in the saddle.
The FARM
The Farm — the Heart of our Home
Set beside our home, our Horse Farm is the heart of Equi Vista Mar—where mornings begin with the horses and the day’s route is planned around the light, the weather, and your riding level.
It’s a calm, welcoming base for intermediate and advanced riders, with gentle options available for beginners around the farm.

Meet the herd
Today, our herd includes six horses: Dalia; Domino, Dante, and Kira (all Dalia’s grandchildren); plus Dayan and Sam, who have since joined the herd. Each horse is cared for and matched thoughtfully to riders, helping create confident, enjoyable rides for intermediate and advanced guests, with gentle options available for beginners around the farm.
